FRM_Revision

We believe that the learning process is sequential.  Learning focus and strategies should move through specific phases as you learn.  Our three-phase, expert-developed system is used by FRM candidates across the globe each year. We build up the momentum that will take you through each stage briskly and confidently.

 Three-Phase Study
Education Program (eLearning also available)
This phase is designed to help candidates to build up strong knowledge base, understand the key concepts needed for the exam, receive an up-to-date curriculum,  and attain knowledge on the new areas. This phase lays the foundation of a comprehensive study.
Revision Course
This phase is designed to put your knowledge into practice.  Get hands-on experience with intensive “drill and practice” exercises, reinforce question answering ability and develop strategy and techniques. Useful recap of important and demanding concepts will be provided. This phase is a “booster shot” for your skills, propelling you to peak performance.
Mock Exam and Review
The last phase is designed to gauge your performance with exam-standard questions, under timed condition.  Mock Review Session reviews the questions in detail and highlights the examination preparation techniques which are essential to succeed on the real examination.
Comprehensive training for exam success!

What is FRM®?

The Financial Risk Manager (FRM) is the certification recognized among financial risk professionals worldwide, with over 26,000 FRM holders in over 90 countries across the globe. This qualification is administered and awarded by the Global Association of Risk Professionals.

Why FRM?

Financial risk management is one of the hottest skill sets to have in the financial services industry today that offers excellent visibility and outstanding earnings potential. The profession has seen considerable growth over the past 15 years fueled by the complexity of financial products, increased regulation and recent notable failures.

Like other careers in finance, having an advanced degree and certification helps to increase your career potential in financial risk management. FRM holders have positions such as Chief Risk Officer, Senior Risk Analyst, Head of Operational Risk, and Director, Investment Risk Management, to name a few. If you are in financial risk management, or considering a career in it, then earning your FRM is the next natural step.

Who should take the FRM Exam?

The following recommendations describe who should take the FRM Exam, given their current career path:

  1. A financial risk professional with work experience in risk management or related field including auditing, trading, portfolio management, academic/industry research, risk consulting and/ or risk technology.
  2. An individual with a sufficient amount of work experience in a business field other than risk management, but is interested in switching career paths to risk management. Examples of financial risk management positions include credit risk officer, credit insurance officer, risk analyst, risk manager, compliance officer or compliance manager.

The Examinations

2 levels - must be taken in order and each passed to proceed to next level
Part I - 100 multiple-choice questions (4 hours)
Part II - 80 multiple-choice questions (4 hours)

Exam Entrance Requirements

There is no special entrance requirement for taking the FRM Exam. However, the exam is highly technical and you should have sound numeric ability.  If you do not have an academic background in business or if you have been out of school for many years and cannot recall much from your undergraduate days, it would be beneficial to gain (or regain) some basic accounting, economic, and financial background to begin your studies.

FRM Certification Requirements

Passing both Part I and part II exam
A minimum of two years work experience in the area of financial risk management or another related field including, but not limited to, trading, portfolio management, academic or industry research, economics, auditing, risk consulting, and/or risk technology.
Hold active membership with GARP
