Candidate Alert: CFA Exam ID Policy **Important** Post Date: 2012-05-09
Kaplan is helping CFA Institute to pass this important message along to our students and customers, who will be taking the exam in June.
Linked below is the new CFA Exam ID policy. Candidates must have a valid international passport and it must match the data on file with the Institute. This is IMPORTANT! Candidates will not be able to get a passport, renew a passport or update the passport information with CFA Institute overnight! Plan ahead and start the process NOW.
If you already have a passport, get it out RIGHT NOW and make sure all information matches the name, address, etc that is on file with CFA Institute and that the passport is valid through the exam date.
For most Level II and Level III candidates, this will be their first exam sitting since the identification policy changes. Whether or not you are taking the exam for the first time, pleaseremember to bring your valid passport to the examination.
If you need to update the passport information on file with CFA Institute, remember that the Identification Information Change Request Forms must be submitted to them at least 3 weeks prior to the exam date (i.e. May 13, 2012 for the June 2012 exam). CFA Institute cannot guarantee your record will be updated if your change is submitted after the deadline.
I know many will ‘do it later’ and I can guarantee you that there will be people turned away on exam day because of ID issues. How frustrating would it be to spend many months studying and then not be able to take the exam because of your ID!
